There's no blues here 'Brother', just 'Commitments' to the new 1,2,3 and major ISA campaign. Yes, there's no need to be down in Castle Donington at the moment because there are lots of exciting things happening in our Santander Agency this month. Not only is it ISA top up and renewal time, with Santander offering a market leading rate of 4%, but there is also a new current account product packed with benefits.
And to celebrate the launch of Santanders new 1,2,3 current account and credit card Alison & Katharine rose to the challenge of best decorated office and came up with a great theme at the same time, that being the music of 'The Blues Brothers' and 'The Commitments'.
We think you'll agree they've made a great effort, although we've yet to hear if they win the prize offered by Santander Head Office.
You'll agree they both look a lot more glamourous in their outfits than the original Blues Brothers, Jake & Elroy. So when it comes to opening a new current account 'Everybody, Everbody needs' to come to Alison & Katharine.
Marble Property Services were one of the proud contributors to Castle Doningtons Christmas Tree festival held in St Edwards Church each year. Staff took great delight in decorating a tree made up of symbols of both our estate agency business and our banking agency arm.
There couldn't have been a more enthusiastic response from the staff to the opportunity of decorating the tree and it was a privilege for us to visit the church during the festival and see our tree along with dozens of others gracing the pews while a choir sang Christmas carols.

Well it is Christmas
Derbyshire Life came to Castle Donington just before Christmas and asked to do a feature on Marble Property Services and a number of other local businesses. Obviously we were very proud to be involved and to offer our views on what it's like to live or work in this great village. You'll get to meet some of Marble Property Services staff and many of our friends with businesses here.
The resultant article appeared in their January issue and you can read it yourself here via this web link on pages 68-73

At a time when properties aren’t meant to be moving, we’re glad to tell you a good news story.
After living in the same home for 18 years Mr & Mrs Parkinson of Huntingdon Road, went to see Bloor Homes at East Leake and reserved one of their new homes, offering their own on part exchange. Bloor Homes contacted Marble Property Services, proposing a realistic figure they would like to achieve.
We put the property on the market, deliberately waiting a few days until the sun was just right for the photo, then on 14th October put the home on the market in our window and on all websites. On the 18th Mr & Mrs Wykes from Hemington viewed, making a successful offer on the 20th.
By the 30th November they had moved in and became the happy new owners.

We're pleased to say we do get our fair share of 'Thank Yous' in the course of our business, but every now and again one lands on our desks that means a lot. So we'd like to share this lovely letter with you as we were all moved to recieve this after a long and sometimes problematic sale process.
Mr & Mrs Abbey came to see us in Autumn 2011. They have lived in their home for over 31 years and had a great deal of apprehension about the house moving process, nevertheless they had decided the time was right to move to Usk to be closer to their children.
Their house had been on the market for a year with another local agent when they approached us to see if we would take their sale over. We applied ourselves to the task and within a month found them a buyer who was in a chain. We nursed that chain through to a satisfactory completion on February 2nd and they have since left the village for pastures new. Here is their letter.

Marble Property Services is celebrating after opening their new high profile premises in Borough Street, Castle Donington. Here, we shine the spotlight on a business success story.
Six years, almost to the day since Marble Property Services first opened for business, a new chapter began with the grand launch of their New Castle Donington, Borough Street Branch.
Steve Thrower and Neil Alkins
Steve Thrower and Neil Alkins of Marble Property Services welcomed customers, friends and staff to 24 hours of events which included drinks, other refreshments and prize draws, with any money raised being matched by Marble and donated to three different charities includingthe Castle Donington Volunteer Centre, Breakthrough Breast Cancer and The Alzheimer Society.
Also present on the day was Amanda Halliday who gave a brief presentation to the guests about her forthcoming challenge crossing 250km of Northern Norway by dog sled inspired by her mother and on behalf of Skcin, the skin cancer charity.
Marble Property Servicesare Property Sales, Letting Agents, Property Managers as well as being a fully independent firm of Financial Advisers, offering the best mortgage and insurance deals to homebuyers.
When Steve set up the company in 2005 the aim was to act for clients nationwide. Over the past six years they have offered their full range of services to the public across England and Wales with satisfied customers from Kent to Northumbria.
“Initially we set up our headquarters in a central location and felt no need for a high street presence,” he said.
“We have always won work through the recommendation of clients who appreciated our services and this has got us contracts with local builders and national contracts.
“Our lettings division is pretty special, managing more than 180 properties for Armed Forces personnel who are based in Cyprus, Germany and other countries, all from our office in Castle Donington.”
However, Marble Property Services has now decided the time has come to focus more on its local clientele, hence the new branch.
To that end, to supplement the existing team, Rachel Allison has been appointed local manager to oversee business within ten miles of the branch.

They are also now the proud managers of the Villages Santander Agency (formerly Alliance and Leicester) and offer a range of banking services at this address too.

Rosina Burton, a local and the first person to open a new Santander account since the re-opening cut the red ribbon and declared the premises well and truly open to the public.
With only a few days to go before our Grand Launch, Marble Property Services are proud to announce a guest of honour, local mum, explorer and something of a heroine, Amanda Halliday.
Amanda is to undertake an Arctic Expedition in Northern Norway in Spring (and we use that word tentatively) 2012 accompanied by her trusty Huskies.
Come and meet Amanda on Friday & Saturday and hear all about the challenge, how you prepare, how dangerous it really is.
In light of recent events in Norway we are hoping she will assure us of the steps she is taking to come back safely.
Here's Amanda with one of her four legged friends. Don't forget to find out how to sponsor her. Amandas Challenge will provide much needed funds for the Karen Clifford Skin Cancer Charity. Amanda will undoubtedly enlighten you on why she passionately believes in this charity when you see her.
